So I find some time to blog again. Well actually to be honest I'm typing part of this entry in notepad at office, since things are more slack now, and busily typing stuff makes you look busy.

Anyway I'm quite sure that you would have read about the Myanmar Cyclone Nargis disaster as well the earthquake in China. Both are natural disasters which have claimed many lives. But while both disasters are huge in their own rights, I cannot help but pity the Burmese more. If I had $100 to donate between these 2 relief aids, I would most probably donate it all to the China disaster. But isn't this contradicting my previous sentence about me pitying the Burmese more? Reason is simple, while I do pity the Burmese more, I know that my $100 would go directly into being used to help the kids in China.

The stark contrast between the 2 governments in these 2 countries is very evident. We all know what the military government is doing. They are despicable, scheming, deviously cunning and have small greedy piggy (no offence to pigs) eyes. They are using and manipulating this natural disaster to further strengthen their stranglehold rule over the poor helpless people of Myanmar. You cannot help but feel sorry for them as you read about reports of another disaster about to hit Myanmar. Only this time its men with small greedy piggy eyes-made. Famine and disease are about to plague the country and what do the military government do? They hoard the good food up and give the rotten food to those who really need it. It really is a sad world we live in at times, when we see such inhumanity in people's hearts. There's not much I can say here on, the wrongdoings and shortcomings of humankind are apparent for all to see. To quote from the stupid Mcgriddles advertisement, "It is what it is", what more can I say?

I heard or read this somewhere

Question: If there are really aliens in this universe, why have they not invaded us yet?
Answer: They would rather save their time and effort, while watching us tear ourselves apart through selfishness and greed.

On to other things then. Sincerity is important. You know it, I know it but how many of us are blinded by the materialistic side of things? For example, if someone bought you something expensive like a diamond or the latest handphone, would you appreciate it more than if someone spent hours or days making for you something? Since most of you can see the angle I'm trying to put across here, you would now say you appreciate the latter. But try telling yourself that when you really are in that position. For me, I have long valued sincerity over the materialistic side of things. In fact, I love simple things, I have no need nor no want for branded goods. To me, the greatest gift anyone can give you is time, followed by effort, because time is something which once given can never be returned and effort is something that cannot be measured but only appreciated.

So when someone spends the time and effort doing something for you, appreciate it, for he or she has given you 2 things which money can't buy. Money can be earned, but time and effort can only be given. It may be simple things like a scrapbook, or more complicated things like a cross stitch or knitting, or maybe even forming words with candles for someone. Each of these should remain as memories in your life, for that person has deemed you important enough to spend his time on you. Keep that in mind people, SINCERITY is the one gauge of how much you mean to another person.

A biblical story about sincerity goes somewhat like this: Many people who went to church started giving their offerings when it ended. Since most of them were rich, it was common sight to see bags of gold coins being given as offerings. However, a poor woman in rags suddenly came in and gave 2 bronze coins(that being I guess, the cents of our time), which prompted a rather scornful remark from Jesus disciple(I think it was anyway, it may have just been a passerby). The disciple's remarked to Jesus saying "look at her giving such a small offering, how can she expect to be blessed when compared to those who give bags of gold?" To which Jesus replied "She will be blessed the most because while the rich only gave a fraction of their wealth, this poor lady gave ALL of her wealth".

Sincerity is probably the reason why I don't want to go into the business world, where there are full of hypocrites, backstabbers, liars and boot licker/apple polishers. Where they only talk and treat you nicely if you're on top, while treating you like shit when you're just a low position staff. But watch how these people change their tune when you're up there and above them. Such cunts are aplenty in this world, but most of them can be found in the business world. More on this next entry.

Well, its been a long entry anyway, more like my usual self eh? Ok, I know the tone has been pretty serious. So I'm going to end this entry but just to lighten the mood somewhat, let me recount one funny name I came across again. I was doing press registration for my company and I came across this name: Anal Thrawastky. When I read it I immediately went what the crap? in my head and double checked to see if I was seeing things. Nope, I wasn't. Now how crap is it to have Anal as your name? His must be cursing his luck for having such a shit name which I am sure has made him, literally the butt of all jokes. But let's not forget to pity his wife. I mean, she can't ever say that she loves her husband can she? Hahaha, yea I hope you get my drift.

Ok then I'm done with this entry so ciao to all and to all, have a Happy Vesak Day!

We're 2 of a kind

Just a short update. Not really in the mood nor do I have time to blog a long entry. So to keep things simple, I'll just put in point form what has been happening.

  • Finished the FHA 2008 and damn, it was a really great event. Was tired out but the experience of being there and the satisfaction of knowing that you played your part in such a huge and prestigious event cannot be measured.
  • I have recieved my Army Letter. I will be going in on 10th July, which coincidentally is on Dear's birthday. As you might expect, neither of us are too happy over this piece of news. Heck, the word happy shouldn't even be in that sentence.
  • I am still working in Singapore Exhibition Services. The people there are nice except for a few loudmouth louts (or maybe just one) but I'm enjoying my time there.
  • I will be going to Genting next week, Friday to Sunday with the Daniel, Paul, Ben, Melvin etc. At least I think so. Ping Shen just told me that he wasn't sure if they had booked it yet. Most disconcerting I have to say.
  • I realise that I have not been going out with my friends as of late. I'll try to make time to go out with you guys alright.
  • Finally, but most importantly, Dear and I have already passed our 5 month. While it may have been 1 week ago's matter, I'll just like to say Happy 5th month to my Dear! I enjoy every minute I'm with you and we'll continue to have good times alright?

Ok that's about it I guess. Well well, pretty long entry still, but hey, by my standards its pretty dwarfed already. Alright then goodnight everybody and Dear, I finally updated my blog so you can stop pinching me in certain areas ok? :D

On a side note, Chippy's are great. And I really am looking forward to a holiday.
